Introduction

The DAAS private cloud was set up with interoperability in mind not only with current IT infrastructure solutions but also with other cloud computing and server virtualization technologies. This eases the transition for ISVs and Cloud Service Providers towards the cloud.

Windows & Linux servers

The DAAS.com cloud allows you to run Windows and Linux in a virtualized environment.

All Windows Server systems are supported :

Windows Server 2000
Windows Server 2003 - 32 and 64 bit
Window Server 2008 - 32 and 64 bit

We also support most Linux Server distributions :

Ubuntu Server Edition
Red Hat Linux Enterprise Edition
CentOS Server
LAMP Server

Virtual desktop support

The DAAS solution has built-in support to offer Virtual Desktops to your clients. Using video acceleration software you can offer an improved user experience compared to other virtual desktop technologies such as CitriX Server system.

You can offer both Linux and Windows Desktops to your clients, ranging from Windows XP and Windows Vista to Windows 7.

Import Vbox & VMWare Images

The import functionality allows you to :

Migrate existing physical servers to the cloud using a Physical-To-Virtual conversion tool
Migrate existing virtual servers to the cloud simply by uploading the virtual disk
Create a new cloud compatible server using your desktop PC

We support the following formats :

Virtual Box : Virtual Desktop Image (VDI) images
VMware : Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) images

Use of own licenses

The DAAS cloud offers Infrastructure As A Service (IAAS) to any operating system or application that requires computing resources. This means that you can use choose your own operating system or applications running on top of your dedicated cloud infrastructure.

There are no restrictions on what you can run on your private cloud.

Firewalls & Load balancers

Your private cloud also support infrastructure appliances such as firewalls and load balancers. You can choose to create your own virtual firewall or you can opt to use one created specifically for DAAS by one of our trusted vendors.

32 bit or 64 bit

You can run both 32 and 64 bit operating systems on top of your private DAAS cloud.
