Introduction

In addition to using these reliability components, the DAAS solution also features extensive monitoring and reporting technology.

Everything in the DAAS cloud is monitored ranging from the power supply and heat flow in the DAAS racks to the virtual servers themselves.

How does it work ?

All DAAS equipment, including switches, storage servers and CPU nodes, are connected to a power monitoring device from Racktivity. With it's very precise power instrumentation it can send out warnings when a server is degrading allowing for preventive maintenance to resolve the issue.

Racktivity's Rack Controller replaces dumb PDUs with a smart device that tracks energy, temperature, humidity, airflow and rack security. The device monitors trends and sends alerts when problems occur. It gives you a new insight into the physical parameters of your datacenter. It can even take preventive action such as shutting down servers to prevent damage.
